Overview
Brine (Salt) Tank
The brine tank stores the salt and makes the saturated brine the softener draws during regeneration. Water sits on the salt, dissolves it to about 26 % sodium chloride, and the valve's injector pulls exactly what it needs. The brine valve and float stop the tank overfilling, the brine well keeps the suction line clear, and the perforated plate holds the salt above the brine pick-up.
